Limitations

blog Sep 28, 2021

This week I am taking a mini-course on memory with Jim Kwik. One of the things he says is that if you fight for your limitations, you get to keep them. If you believe you have a bad memory, then you will keep on having a bad memory and be unable to remember things.

I say “We are all magnificent”, and that’s true, but we also limit our magnificence by the other beliefs we hold.

Every time you say “I can’t do that job”, or “I can’t keep track of everything I need to”, “I can’t succeed at that” or “I can’t learn that skill”, you “fight” for that belief and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you say you can’t, you can’t.

If you say you can, you can. The key is to tell yourself a new story about what you CAN do. Fight for the new story. Keep telling your new story and that will become your new belief and your new self-fulfilling prophecy.

What do you think of this? Have you been fighting for a limitation? Has someone persuaded you to start telling a different story? Have you fought against your own limitations and succeeded? Leave a comment!

Until next time, remember… We are all magnificent.
